We chatted with MS Nurse Advisor, Bridie Phillips on why the service is such an important and popular one within MS Plus.

Why is the MS Nurse Advisor service an important one?

Many clients, families and care providers do not have access to an MS Nurse or cannot get through to their MS Nurse. We are a service that is easily accessed and the only MS Nurse service accessible via phone from multiple states that can provide advice and support and up to date education on all aspects of MS.

What are some commonly asked questions?

Fatigue and pain management, fears about side effects of disease modifying therapies, how to get diagnosed, vaccines, COVID and MS, education on specific disease modifying therapies and help with choosing a treatment recommended by their neurologist.

What is one piece of advice you would give to anyone living with MS?

Reach out for support when you are not coping physically or emotionally, there just may be a solution to improve your current situation!!

Some feedback from happy clients:

“Recently, my husband, acknowledged that he needed carer support services and he made contact with Bridie the MS nurse and was absolutely thrilled with her support. She has provided him with an online support group for carers.”

“[It was] lovely chatting, you are a lovely lady and the way you discuss and talk in detail about things that are totally out off my radar is fabulous, thank you and thanks for the info.”

“My dearest Bridie, I wish to express deep gratitude for your valuable assistance.

I too - thoroughly enjoyed speaking with you today. I discovered soooo so much in our chat. I'm about to dive into all those fascinating links ... and learn much more.”
